Lumen x AIA at Punahou Sustainability Fair
April 29, 2011 at 3:31 pm
Lumen Solar joined the local AIA Committee on the Environment in creating an interactive booth at Punahou School’s annual Sustainability Fair. The booths are meant to engage the students with sustainability in fun, mind-expanding ways, and we accomplished that through a recycled building material matching game (to match the latest composite building products with their recycled feedstock), a musical instrument made with salvaged materials, and hands-on solar displays. Visitors were fascinated by the shiny cerulean Apricus evacuated tubes and intrigued by our Atlantis Sunslate building-integrated PV roof shingle. Ideas are already blossoming for next year’s fair! Here’s some pics, courtesy of AIA members Mark Ayers of Ferraro Choi & Associates and Brad Smith of Innovative Habitat Design.
